LactaDiet ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you use the LactaDiet mobile application ("App").
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information: name, email address, and password (stored securely via Firebase Authentication).
- Health & nutrition information: postpartum stage, dietary preferences, allergy information, hydration logs, and breastfeeding reminders that you voluntarily enter into the App.
- Device information: device type, operating system version, and app version, collected automatically for crash reporting purposes.
- Usage data: anonymised crash reports and error logs collected via Firebase Crashlytics to help us improve the App.
We do not collect precise GPS location, contacts, camera rolls, or any data unrelated to the App's nutrition and breastfeeding features.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To provide personalised meal plans, hydration reminders, and breastfeeding tracking tailored to your postpartum stage.
- To send local push notifications for hydration and breastfeeding reminders (processed entirely on your device).
- To diagnose crashes and bugs so we can improve the App.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
3. Data Storage & Security
Your account and health data are stored on Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore), hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure in compliance with Google's security standards. Personal health data stored locally on your device is encrypted using AES-256 encryption via the Hive database.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Crashlytics) – firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- USDA FoodData Central API – used to retrieve nutritional information for recipes. No personal data is sent to this service.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and health data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the App's Settings screen, which permanently removes your personal data from our servers within 30 days.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data via the Edit Profile screen in the App.
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

7. Children's Privacy
LactaDiet is intended for adults (18 years and older). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
